Remember this day Cowboy fans, October 14, 2008. Today changes everything. After the heartbreaking loss to the Cardinals, and a disappointing break of the most famous pinky finger in the world, there is hope. Two days later, Jerry Jones to the rescue. I’m here to tell you Nation, both of today’s headlines will change the path to the Super Bowl.
Headline #1 Roy Freaking Williams
Roy Williams, not #38, but the Detroit Lions #1 receiver, is now a Cowboy. This is great! Fantastic news, imagine if you will, the closest player in build to Michael Irvin. His potential is phenomenal. This is a game breaker for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones has made a statement that NOW, not later, not next year, but NOW is the time for a Super Bowl. Grant it, this will take some time. Roy needs to learn the offense, and Tony needs to get healthy. But once they are both on the field and can gel, this great offense will explode. We now have two excellent running backs, one incredible tight end, and two top receivers. We have an offensive line that did falter in the desert, but is resilient. They will tighten up. I know they feel responsible for what happened to Tony Romo, this will not happen to Brad Johnson. What more can a QB ask for? Even the great Brett Favre, called Tony Romo today, urging him to play on. But more on that later.
Headline #2 Sack Pacman
Adam Jones suspended. Enough said. Great, Grand, Wonderful! Was this guy worth it? NO. Did he live up to the hype in 6 games? Hell NO! The Cowboys actually handled Pacman like the arcade game, they had four “ghost” like bodyguards following him around. I guess the power pellets were strip clubs, or places with alcohol. He would eat these power pellets, and the ghosts would scatter from his fierce horseplay. This guy was not worth the trouble Nation. Flat out not worth the trouble. Orlando Scandrick, and Mike Jenkins have actually looked better on the field, and they’re rookies. Rookies ladies and gentlemen. This is the right move for Roger Goodell. The Cowboys should follow suit and release him from the roster all together. This kid, and that’s exactly what he is, a punk kid, needs to move on. He has wasted Deion Sander’s time. He has wasted Michael Irvin’s time. Even the “Ghosts” that were hired by the Cowboys to protect him, to watch him, fired! Pacman has lived up to his reputation, and that reputation has no place on a 1st rate, classy organization like the Dallas Cowboys. Please Pacman, you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.
Now back to the most famous Pinky finger in the free world. Tony Romo’s long time football hero, Brett Favre called him as Romo entered his doctor’s office on Tuesday. Favre urged Tony to play through the pain, and carry the team on his back. Brett Favre has played through many injuries throughout his long career, so he knows what it’s like playing through pain. But do we really want TR to go out there and continue his turnover party and possibly risk further injury? Brett Favre’s intentions are good, I think. But Coach Phillips has already ruled Tony out for the next three games. Here’s the odd thing, TR was out attempting to throw the ball in practice on Wednesday. Is he going to listen? Will the temptation of having TO and Roy Williams out on the field at the same time be too much to ignore? Favre knows how highly Tony thinks of him. He’s read the reports. He is using this bad advice to try and throw a monkey wrench in the high octane cog that is the Cowboy Offense. Don’t do it Tony. We all remember the boring soap opera Favre forced all football fans through this summer. The guy doesn’t even know how to retire. Brett, and I say this with all do respect, Shut up. Worry about the Jets, worry about making the playoff, which you won’t. TR needs to get his head straight. He needs to refocus. He doesn’t need to listen to a guy who’s old team didn’t even think he was worth the price of admission. See: Adam Rodgers.

David...wow! Okay, let's first not put Roy Williams (read more here) in the same sentence as Michael Irvin. The Playmaker is a HOFer for God's sake...Roy has potoential! As for Pacman...I totally disagree with you. He is a major talent that has his demons...but don't we all? His demons are on TV for everyone to see, while ours are hidden away! I beleive in second chances (read more here) , and Adam Jones will get another chance...hopefully! I think he was worth the risk...especially if he ever reaches his potential! I agree with you on Tony Romo. He needs to rest up for at-least this week and then see how he feels...but as long as Brad Johnson plays well and the Cowboys win...then Romo should rest until fully healed! As far as Favre goes...I have always hated the guy (ask around)...but I can somewhat stomach him now that he is with the J-E-T-S...Jets...Jets...Jets! They (Jets) will make the play-offs! Peace!
Utopia1dc, thanks for you comment. Yes Roy Williams, Michael Irvin, same sentence. I've done it again. What I said was, "the closest player in build to Michael Irvin". I didn't say he was Michael Irvin, didn't say he would be Michael Irvin, who is in fact my favorite Cowboy player ever! So if you don't like those two names in the same sentence, all i can say is, Get USED TO IT! If we're lucky, Roy will live up to the Hype. Speaking of Hype, Pacman has not lived up to it, and i think even you can agree, no interceptions. Nothing more than 12 yards in a punt return, maybe 15. The one thing he's been an all pro at this season, Drinking. And you're right, Second Chances, we should believe in them. I just don't believe in 13th and 14th chances. Believe me, i've you let someone in your life screw with you 14 times and you're willing to give him another chance, you're an idiot. I'm so glad that we actually agree on something. Tony should not play. However, he has already said that he will play. Right now, he's leaving it up to the coaches and Jerry Jones to keep him out. Brett Favre basically punked him out, if he were to agree to sit out now, he would look as weak as the Jets chances of making the playoffs.
Once again, thanks for your comment.
