Cowboy Nation

Right again.

They said it couldn't be done.  So many people said that Dallas would
lose, that Tampa was an up and coming NFC monster.  Too many injuries
they said.  Brad Johnson throws to many interceptions.  The O line
won't hold up.  ESPN, Fox sports, Showtime's Inside the NFL, all the
experts picked Tampa to win.  Then Wade Phillips got involved.  And he
proved them wrong.

We all know what was holding them back Nation.  Say it with me….one
bad coordinator:  Brian Stewart.  Oh, Bri Bri celebrated out there
like we won the NFC Championship.  But let's face it, it wasn't
because of him.  His defensive schemes have hurt us in the last 4
contests, losing three out of those because of bad leadership.  Wade
fixed that.  And I know Cowboy fans, I know what they're going to say.

We did it as a team.  Brian was a part of that every step of the way.
But don't you believe it.  He was the problem.  Check that, he is the
problem.  Fire him.

Brad Johnson endured the boo birds to pass through a safe game.  Did
he win the game?  No, the defense deserves this one.  But he could
have given it away on a silver platter for that spoiled, spit spewing,
red faced joke of a head coach (Could you believe that laser light
stare of his?  He should have his own horror movie franchise, oh wait,
he does….Child's Play) Chucky.  But he didn't.  Safe is boring, QB
management, dink and dunk football.  But here is the one thing about
that game boys and girls that's escaped every-one's mind, no
interceptions.   Tony Romo has yet to pull that off this year.  Yet I
can still say with a straight face that the team would be better with
him around.  And Felix Jones, and Terence Newman.

The Defense was great, not allowing a touchdown the whole game, as I
had said in my last entry, hold them to 13 points and under, and we
should win.  Right again.  Six times and only three field goals.  Wade
knows his stuff.  The problem I'm concerned with right now is if Wade
decides he's done his part and hands over the reigns again.  He should
hold on to the defense, the attacking style finally showed its elusive
face.  With Wade at the controls, I could see the D line making its
way.  There were a few loose ends, but with more work all is possible.
Mike Jenkins showed why he was a first rounder.  There were a few
rookie mistakes, but I get the feeling he will be fighting for a
starter spot next camp, and will win.

The O line is still having some problems.  Johnson went down a few
time due to lack of protection, and also because he is slow (40,
remember?)  There were a few glimpses of pass protection that mirrored
the Cleveland game, Brad had all day, if only he could connect.
Oh by-the-way, the new punter, he's a football player.  I know one guy
in Tampa that is gonna be so made fun of today during film session.
For those of you who don't understand this, never get tackled by the
punter.  NEVER.  You go out of bounce first….slide, anything, but
never, under any circumstances, get taken out by the punter.
Especially how that guy got taken out.  You'd think we had Hines Ward
punting for us.
