Cowboy Nation

Friends,  Americans, Countrymen, lend me your football experience.  I needs to wrap up as much as possible and send it to the main offices in Valley Ranch.

The Dallas Cowboys are suffering Nation.  They have fallen off the highest mantle of expectation in the NFL.  Once hailed as the 'sure thing' in this year's Super Bowl, now just another forgotten heap of scrap metal set aside on the road to Tampa.   Boy did Jerry Jones spend his cash wisely.  Fresh off the "Hard Knocks" HBO series, which began and ended with TO jogging shirtless, Dallas appeared to have the map, GPS, and itinerary all set with a showdown with whoever the AFC victim would be in Florida.  A lot has happened in nine short weeks.  It all began with a win against Green Bay.  A blue print was set in motion with how to contain TO.  Ever since that game, opposing teams has strived to perfect it.  Washington achieved that goal and shut down TO and the run, and ever since then, the season has been lost.

After the first game Dallas was #1 in all power rankings:  ESPN, Fox sports, Sports Illustrated.  For weeks they held on to the top spot with impressive victories.  Now, they have slipped to as low as 22ND.  That's ten spots from the bottom.  As horrific as that fact may be, there is still time to salvage the season.  The return of Captain America from his Kryptonic pinkie finger may be the best medicine, but it's not the only return that will help.  Felix Jones, Terence Newman, a semi pain free Jason Witten, will help.  But I must reiterate Nation, all will be lost if the massive offensive line decides to fold under the pressure.  It all ends and begins with the O-line.  There will be no post season if we lose two more.  Washington must pay at home if the Cowboys hope to salvage the season.  Nothing else must exist in the collective minds of the team but the demise of Washington.  Bring down the Redskins, nothing more, beat them, nothing less.

Terrell Owens:  The voice of reason

As those fan (including myself) hold out hope that the return of several players will result in continued success.  We are waiting for the good stuff.  However, as the team wise man reminded us last week, It wasn't good before they went out.  TO reminds us of the first Washington game, where Tony Romo tried to force the ball to him.  He reminded us, that Felix Jones was healthy, and was not used in that game.  He reminded us, that O-line shrank, and allowed defenders to flow through, giving Tony Romo and Marion Barber all kinds of trouble.  So, when we have these positive individuals who are pulling for the Cowboys to try and not quit, It is the voice of reason who will say, "Not so fast, we have to work at the things that were troubling us before the injuries."  Thank you TO.  You know Nation, It takes the new found character of a player like TO to set us straight.  I remember the old TO, the guy i wanted beheaded because of the despicable act of standing on the star when he was with San Fran.  Well, Emmitt and George Teague must have knock some sense into him that day.  Plus Jeff Garcia was gay.  Then there was the Eagle TO, that guy i really couldn't stand.  Neither could Donovan Mcnabb, as they scored touchdown after touchdown and ultimately making it all the way to the super bowl.  Dnabb, of course choked and the rest is history.  Their relationship sank, and the team sided with Mcnabb, cutting TO midway through his last season.  But now we have the Cowboy TO.  Team oriented TO.  Screaming at the Offensive line, much like Troy Aikman did when he was sacked.  He has finally grown all the way up.  We get a kid like Pacman, and TO welcomes him as family.  We get the Lion's Roy Williams, and he welcomes him to the family.  No matter what the press attempts, poking at TO, trying desperately to get to slip.  Trying desperately to get him to spill.  TO is finally awake, a team leader.  If we have any success in Week 11.  If we roll the table and win the next 7 games you can bet it's because of TEAM.  You can bet that TO is part of that team, finally.
