Cowboy Nation

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED.

I don't know any Cowboy fan who felt anything else while watching the second half of the fourth quarter.  It was a collapse unlike any other, but the feeling was very familiar.  See:  fumbled snap in Seattle.  See also: Last year's Giants game in Dallas (postseason).  I need to make a statement here, one that would shock true die hards, but will make sense to all the realists out there.  The Dallas Cowboys will not make it to the Super Bowl this year.  This should not be surprising Nation, as all signs point to "hell no".  Mathematically, the boys are still in it.  However, this requires a win against the strongest team in the NFL, and no, i don't mean the Titans. But the Cowboys proved to me, and the rest of the NFL that they will not rise to the occasion when it is called for.  They will not step up when the score is needed, when a proven team is on the other side.  They shocked the Steelers for three and a half quarters.  They showed the #1 defense how to do it for 3 1/2.  But the second half of the 4th, the final 7 minutes, what happened?  Collapse.

Finish

In training camp there was a mantra that was repeated often:  Finish.  All through "Hard Knocks", finish.  Finish the drive, finish the series.  Finish the game, finish the season.  But on Sunday, did they finish?  This is a game that they should have won, would have won, but they didn't finish.  What they hell is it gonna take to finish a total game against quality opponent?!  That the BLEEP is it gonna take to have a positive December!  And who is to blame here?  Coach Phillips?  Marion Barber, as Jerry Jones clearly points out?  Tony Romo, Jason Witten, TO?  Frankly, I'm tired of looking for someone to blame.  If the team needs to be gutted, then gut them.  If there is a coaching change that needs to happen, then change 'em.  An owner that needs to retire so a youthful, more dynamic owner can take over.  Then DO IT, and hire a GM for God sakes.  No more questions, we require action.  I'm already looking to August, next season.  I hope that I'm wrong, but the rest of this season looks to disappoint.  At least they've been consistent in that department.

Joe "gotta go" Buck.

Joe Buck Yourself   Go Joe Buck yourself.

How many of you were sick to death when Troy Aikman's midget sidekick, Joe Buck, kept bringing up the Cowboys horrible record in December, over and over again.  Even when they were up by 10 in the 4th, he kept bringing it up, and repeating himself.  At one point, I was trying to pull the Jedi Mind trick on Aikman through the tv, and make him choke Joe Buck.  Unfortunately, it didn't take, maybe i wasn't doing it right.  One things for sure, If I ever see that bastard at an airport car rental, he's not getting the car he wants, and may end up in the trunk.  But enough about gay midgets.  Troy at times seemed to show some favor to his old team.  I began to feel hopeful, then he began to be non-biased Snakeman again.  Can't blame him for choosing the winner, but if I were a millionaire, i would put a wedgie hit on him.  That's right, I'd put a high dollar amount on the first, second and third wedgie attacks on Troy.  They would need a team, one that takes the picture, and on that does the actual wedgie.  The act is harmless enough, but the pictures would do something for my soul.  One thing is for sure, at the beginning of every game, when it's clear that who the broadcasting team would be, and the images of Troy and gaylord Joe would appear on my screen, i would die a little inside.  Why not Darryl Johnston?  The moose and the goose!  That I can live with.

Until next time.

Question of the week, what do you think should happen next with Dallas?  I've said my piece, but i'm interested in what you think?  Email your thoughts to:
