One Giant Win

The bickering Cowboys banded together as a unit on Sunday night to hand the New York Giants their second consecutive loss.  This was one exciting win as Tashard Choice once again proved that he is for real.  No Felix Jones?  No problem as Choice delivered in the fourth, a quarter that is usually reserved for Marion Barber.  Barber was not himself, he finished with 8 rushes for 2 yards.  That's an average of 0.3 yards a carry.  Choice on the other hand was 9 for 91 yards and a touch.  His average carry was 10.1 yards.  Big difference.  It's safe to say that without Tashard Choice, the Cowboys falls back into the same type of game that they had against the Steelers, and blow another late lead.  The truth is this team played together, all the worthy components charging as one unit.  Romo battling through a back contusion, and coming back to score.  As he did against the Browns in game one, remember the taped chin?  Witten converting on that 3rd and 9 late in the game.  This was the game winner, Choice adding to it on the next play just icing on the cake.  The Defense was great.

This game put the Cowboys in the 5th slot or the 1st Wild Card spot for the playoffs.  The three teams still alive in the playoff hunt for the NFC are:  The Bears, The Falcons and the Eagles.  The Eagles can walk their way out of the playoff hunt with a loss tonight against the Browns.  Falcons are the 7th seed and still have a chance.  The Redskins need a lot of help, as they are the 10th seed and the Saints are the 11th.  The Saints are pretty much out of it.  Next week, the playoff picture will begin to focus, although, it's still important for the Cowboys to win out the final two games.  Anything is possible, hence the beauty that is the NFL.

TO says that the reports about his jelousy over Jason Witten were lies.  Sound Familiar?  Ed Warner and Matt Mosely of ESPN have been drooling over this for a full week now.  Is this a media creation?  Probably not, but i'm sure that the win will allow "The Drama" as it's been called to take a back seat.

Cowboy Nation's Open letter to Matt Mosely and Ed Warner:

Matt and Ed, I know how boring the NFL can be, what with self inflicted gun shot wounds, and dummy QBs not knowing the rules.  But to have that great media mega-monster TO, revive what has already been two of the greatest stories (according to you) with Donovan "I'm so stupid, i don't know the rules" McNabb and Jeff "Gay" Garcia, is too much to hear right now.  Could it have been true, sure.  But it'll never be what it once was.  Perhaps it's time to lay off the gossip column.  Write about fact guys.  A bullet hole has evidence.  You can see it, and the look of stupidity/embarrasment is apparent on the face of the offender/victim.  A statement about overtime has video.  You can see the lack of understanding of the game that he freakin plays, and is paid way too much for.  I can say with all certainty, that if I were unaware of the rules of my job, and it came to light, i'd be out on the street.  These are facts.  He said, she said is the lowest form of reporting.  Matt and Ed, i'm going to give you a break.  Let it go.  If you continue this ridiculous reporting, you will be called out.  The Nation, will not allow boneheaded reporting to go unchecked.

The Cowboys are on a short week, they play Baltimore on Saturday night.  Their streak in night play is 11 straight.  One more would be great.

Until next time.
