ve confirmed that the Bears main man on special teams will no longer be out on the field returning. Devin Hester will no longer be on the receiving end of kick and punt returns. The 26 year old speedy wide out is now focuses all his attention to becoming a better all around receiver. Hester had 11 special teams touchdowns in the 2006 and 2007 seasons. With such success, more teams started to avoid kicking to Hester which lowered his stats last season. Hester did not return kicks the final four games of the 2008 season, with him emerging as a reliable wide receiver.

h in 2009 with the addition of Jay Cutler. With his ability to throw the ball down the field, Devin Hester may finally be able to reach his potential as a burner at WR. The Bears will also be returning their star RB, Matt Forte, who impressed last season with over 1,200 yards. Their defense should be solid as always, but the major question will be chemistry with Cutler and the WR's. By week 2, will they have enough time together to have their timing down? Probably not. I give the Steelers 8/10.

Mike Brown went down again last year, along with Nathan Vasher. Daniel Manning showed promise as Devin Hester's replacement for kick returns. It will be interesting to see if he can stay healthy playing both positions every game.

nings throughout the state. Not helping matters was the little crossing pattern that Bears WR Devin Hester took 65 yards for the game's opening score, and the ensuing Vikings possession that ended up with only three points.

nability of the Vikings' kickoff team to execute a successful squib kick to keep the ball away from Devin Hester, thus gaining them tremendous field position) also scored on their first possession to knot the score at 7-7.

el they are completely not capable of doing.
Finally, the Bears also have the game-changer who is Devin Hester, while the Vikings rely on Robert Ferguson and Maurice Hicks in that "special" teams area. Enough said.

cused on those units as much as he should have, as they have declined during his tenure. With Devin Hester returning kicks and punts for the Bears on Sunday (as well as catching the occasional pass), this is a very pertinent point to discuss at this time. It will be interesting to see how the unit handles Hester, as the Vikes are always big on field position, and kicking the ball out of bounds negates that.
