Jason Witten

11 January 2010

Miles Austin is his deep threat, but Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton continue to be huge 3rd down targets.  Even Roy Williams is looking in sync with Romo, catching a bullet pass that was way over his head.

et is a beast of a blocker and he could also provide match-up problems in the receiving game.  Jason Witten has been held under wraps for the most part this season, but Miles Austin’s recent success along with Philly’s inability to cover the tight-end should open up some holes in the middle.  Romo friendly

s body to shield a defender and catch the ball with his hands in the red-zone.  I wondered why Jason Witten was relegated to blocking and Martellus Bennet wasn’t in the game at all.  With Williams’ absence, that left Crayton, Austin, and Hurd as the only players who ran routes on that last drive.  Hell, I’d rather have Kevin Ogletree running a fade route on the backside than either of those guys.

got out and maintain a high performance on the field, and keep his trap shut.  Take a look at Jason Witten, Patrick.  Take a good long look, and shut up.  Roy Williams: Shut up and get open.  If they play is run your ass down the field all day long and never get the ball, then run your ass down the field and shut up.  You get paid remember?  You get Jerry Jones money.  There should be fines, strike that, heavy, high dollar fines for Cowboys that want to talk.  Right Marty B?

Last night, on NBC’s prime time Sunday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants, 20-8.  The Cowboys desperately needed the win, as they are fighting for their playoff lives.  The Cowboys are now 9-5, but so are the Vikings, the Bucs, and the Falcons.  The Eagles and Bears aren’t that far behind either.  With the Cowboys facing the Ravens and the Eagles in their next two games, the ‘Boys needed a win…desperately.

nce the beauty that is the NFL.

TO says that the reports about his jelousy over Jason Witten were lies.  Sound Familiar?  Ed Warner and Matt Mosely of ESPN have been drooling over this for a full week now.  Is this a media creation?  Probably not, but i'm sure that the win will allow "The Drama" as it's been called to take a back seat.

Each week I will answer questions submitted by my loyal readers.  I personally read every single email I receive.  I will pick out the best five or so to use for the weekly post, as I won’t be able to answer all of them.  I will also answer one or two questions on my daily posts as well.  Now it’s time to open the mail!

Choice.  A defensive gate that opened up in the last 7 minutes and fubar play by Tony Romo or Jason Witten cost us the game.  I'm very please with this year's draft.  Most have made an impact, unlike Adam Jones.  Next year will be something.  I fully expect a 13-3 season, NEXT year.  As for the last three games, my spidy sense tells me that 2-1 is not out of reach.  Unfortunately, the Cowboys will probably need a 3-0 run to make the playoffs.  Anything is possible and i reserve hope, but I must expect more of the same from this cast of boys.  If history repeats itself, and they do make it, then history will repeat itself and they will have a first round exit.  All I can say is WADE PHILLIPS, prove me wrong.

ere?  Coach Phillips?  Marion Barber, as Jerry Jones clearly points out?  Tony Romo, Jason Witten, TO?  Frankly, I'm tired of looking for someone to blame.  If the team needs to be gutted, then gut them.  If there is a coaching change that needs to happen, then change 'em.  An owner that needs to retire so a youthful, more dynamic owner can take over.  Then DO IT, and hire a GM for God sakes.  No more questions, we require action.  I'm already looking to August, next season.  I hope that I'm wrong, but the rest of this season looks to disappoint.  At least they've been consistent in that department.

e, but it's not the only return that will help.  Felix Jones, Terence Newman, a semi pain free Jason Witten, will help.  But I must reiterate Nation, all will be lost if the massive offensive line decides to fold under the pressure.  It all ends and begins with the O-line.  There will be no post season if we lose two more.  Washington must pay at home if the Cowboys hope to salvage the season.  Nothing else must exist in the collective minds of the team but the demise of Washington.  Bring down the Redskins, nothing more, beat them, nothing less.

Six Shooter

Jason Witten is the man.  They don't build them tougher than the Dallas Tight End.  He has catapolted himself up with the toughest football players ever to play the game.  Just some food for thought for Pinkie boy.

Honorable mention goes to Jason Witten this week. He leads the NFL in receiving yards with 442, and is just one touchdown shy of the league leader.  Once again Witten was Tony Romo's go to guy on some critical plays, particularly third downs and a touchdown early in the first half.  He was able to keep the chains moving, and was an amazing blocker for rushing or play action plays.  And how about Patrick Crayton?! Talk about the right place at the right time!  Crayton was in the endzone when a bullet pass from Romo bounced out of the hands of Miles Austin and into Crayton's right arm (which he proceed to catch one handed).  This play sealed the Cowboys lead in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
