Cowboy Nation
4th and Long edition
Michael Irving and Monday Night Football. Two statements that seem to go together. Just when Cowboy fans thought the best thing in the summer months were training camp and pre-season, here comes #88. The Playmaker's new show "4th and Long" brings the spirit of competition to six wide receivers and six defensive backs. I'll admit, I though this was going to be just as embarrassing as all those cocaine arrests that Mike had to endure late in his career. But with the help of Bill Bates and Joe Avezanno, Mike has turned this "Reality Show" into a true drive to the dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboy. Once more, he removes the stigma of "Reality Show" in the first episode, stating that this is a "Football Tryout Camp, don't give me that (expletive) about a reality show". Each week the competitors are graced with the presence of Cowboy greatness. Tony Dorsett, Roger Staubach and Daryl "The Moose" Johnston drop by with their own words of wisdom and specific drills. Not to mention the original #88, Drew Person, who shared a poignant story of not being drafted, and finding the fire to be the best. There is even an episode where Mike's "home" team heads up against Jerry Rice's team of rivals (rejects from the previous episodes).

ide Receivers- Dallas Wide Receivers have been in the news as of late. Let's start with Michael Irvin: Reality show. Ok fine, gives up a roster spot in training camp. Let's see how long that lasts. TO: Reality show. They follow him around during the season. Potential disaster. Reality show producers filling TO's head with malice trying to come up with exciting TV. TO may get arrested, you heard it here first! Speaking of arrests, ex Cowboy Wide Receiver Terry Glenn: Naked at a hotel with a "turkey bag" of marijuana, and of course drunk out of his mind. Dude, Bill Parcels really messed this guy up. Patrick Crayton: Talk trash all year long, and do nothing about it on the field. Good Job, now shut up. There is a lot to be said about a player who will got out and maintain a high performance on the field, and keep his trap shut. Take a look at Jason Witten, Patrick. Take a good long look, and shut up. Roy Williams: Shut up and get open. If they play is run your ass down the field all day long and never get the ball, then run your ass down the field and shut up. You get paid remember? You get Jerry Jones money. There should be fines, strike that, heavy, high dollar fines for Cowboys that want to talk. Right Marty B?

Was it enough?
* Speaking of TO, on his radio show this past week, Michael Irvin was his guest. Irvin, thinking it was just him and TO in the booth, started to tell TO that Jerry Jones called him up during the week and complained to him about Brad Johnson. His was extremely dissappointed on how BJ was playing, then TO reminded him that they were on the air, and shut Irvin down. TO, the voice of reason. Surprised? Me too.
