Was it worth it?

Pac may be out for the rest of the season.  He just returned from a six game suspension in which he punched one of his bodyguards in a drunken rage and left the state for alcohol rehab.  What did this guy do for the team?  The only thing I can remember Pacman doing is dropping a bucket of water on Felix Jones on HBO's Hard Knocks during training camp....from the second floor.  That act could have turned out much worse that just picking on a rookie.  The shock could have had an adverse reaction on Felix Jones, a heart attack, a violent seizure.  Dumber things have happened, just ask Plaxico.  Other than that, he may have recovered a fumble, led the team in pass deflects, and stunk up the special teams.  Was it worth it?  The allure of Pacman, i'll admit, seemed promising.  I fully expected a punt return for a touchdown that would have changed a game or two.  An interception return to the endzone with a familar "Prime Time" dance in honor of his mentor.  At least a few bone crunching tackles the way the old Roy Williams used to, energizing the defense.  None of that happened, and i'm left with a big fat waste of space (between his ears) injury for the remaining three games in 2008.  Way to spend the cash Jerry.  I'm for cutting Pac, maybe the Lions pick him up.  He seems a better fit in Detroit anyway.

here, one that would shock true die hards, but will make sense to all the realists out there.  The Dallas Cowboys will not make it to the Super Bowl this year.  This should not be surprising Nation, as all signs point to "hell no".  Mathematically, the boys are still in it.  However, this requires a win against the strongest team in the NFL, and no, i don't mean the Titans. But the Cowboys proved to me, and the rest of the NFL that they will not rise to the occasion when it is called for.  They will not step up when the score is needed, when a proven team is on the other side.  They shocked the Steelers for three and a half quarters.  They showed the #1 defense how to do it for 3 1/2.  But the second half of the 4th, the final 7 minutes, what happened?  Collapse.

The League and Roger Goodell took way, way too long in delivering those suspensions to the six player who were caught with the dietary supplement, StarCaps.  How long you ask?  Five Months, that’s right,  they knew back in training camp.  The NFL knew waaaaaaay back then.  But they want to effect the end of the season, rather than the beginning.  The obvious question is why?  Pinning down Roger “The Dodger” Goodell on this subject has proven to be extremely difficult.  One this is for certain, the new commish leave a lot to be desired.  I almost miss Paul Tagliabue.

/>He shot himself.  Wow.

Anyway, back to the sanity of the NFL, The Dallas Cowboys

What a difference a Romo makes.

He's been back for three games.  Result:  Three wins.  Now, we all understand that the last two, San Fran and Seattle, are weak, vulnerable teams with self confidence problems.  San Fran has an old bear as interim coach, Seattle just has......well an old coach.  As Pauly Walnuts from the Sopranos would say, irregardless, they're wins, and we'll take 'em.  The Redskins were the only challenge in the past three weeks, and that was a satisfying win.  But what comes next will make or break the year.  Pittsburgh.

15 October 2008

Remember this day Cowboy fans, October 14, 2008.  Today changes everything.  After the heartbreaking loss to the Cardinals, and a disappointing break of the most famous pinky finger in the world, there is hope.  Two days later, Jerry Jones to the rescue.  I’m here to tell you Nation, both of today’s headlines will change the path to the Super Bowl.
