  One question.....Explain to me the reasoning of winning the toss and deferring it.  In the Monday night game against the Eagles, the Boys won the toss and deferred it to the Eagles.  I wanted to pull my hair out!!!!  And you know what?  The Eagles drove down the field and took a 3-0 lead.  Now you're behind.  By three only, but you're behind.  Well, let's see, 6 minutes in the first are gone now.  Six minutes you could have controlled and maybe turned into eight.  If you win the toss, take the football!!!!  It's a gift.  It's free.  What kind of socialist thinking is deferring the kickoff.  Oh, I feel sorry for the loser, so I'll give him my kickoff.  TAKE THE FOOTBALL!!!!!  You think they're going to miss a blocking assignment to say thanks for the deferment?  I don't think so.  " But we'll get the kickoff in the second half "  Yea, but you didn't get it first.  It's psychological.  The seed of losing is planted in your opponents mind before the ball is ever touched.  If you score on the first possession, this feeds that even more.  It goes so much deeper than x's and o's.  Winning and losing is a mind set.  In the game of football, any advantage you can gain over your opponent is crucial.  You can plant the phrase, " we lost " in the mind of your opponent with a coin toss.  One of the three captains will have to say, " We lost the toss "  not to mention the ref says, " You lost the toss, which goal will you defend "  Now that you've lost the toss, you have to defend.  See how it puts a team on the defensive from the beginning.  And if you score, it adds a little bit more pressure.  And adding pressure to your opponent is always good.  Pressure, pressure, pressure!!!!!
