Time Of Possession, Field Position, Turnovers and Penalties!!!! These are the BIG FOUR in football. Statistics have proven that winning three of these four categories ups your odds of walking away with a W. The past few weeks there have been some questionable calls in the NFL. Fines have been levied, refs have been punished, THE TIDES HAVE RISEN AND THE END OF EXISTECE IS AT HAND!!! I've heard from so many fans "That call effected the outcome of the game" One question. I'd venture a guess that this week and every week forever & a day, the boys will establish the run. One of the first things out of Wade Phillips mouth during his Monday press conference was, "We didn't run the ball enough." Some sports reporter asked if 8 in the box was overrated. Phillip's reply, "We stacked 8 in the box, and they still ran the ball effectively" The first 3 games of the regular season the Cowboys used Barber, Jones and that big offensive line to perfection. I've written a few blogs without formerly introducing myself. I'm the self appointed armchair quarterback/head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. I'm not Mr. Educated and fancy book learning when it comes to the correct way of writing. One question.....Explain to me the reasoning of winning the toss and deferring it. In the Monday night game against the Eagles, the Boys won the toss and deferred it to the Eagles. I wanted to pull my hair out!!!! And you know what? The Eagles drove down the field and took a 3-0 lead. Now you're behind. By three only, but you're behind. Well, let's see, 6 minutes in the first are gone now. Six minutes you could have controlled and maybe turned into eight. If you win the toss, take the football!!!! It's a gift. It's free. This week it's the Eagles. Let me say, just for the record. Who cares!! Forget about the NFC East rivalry and that it's the Eagles. I think it's real important to remember it's BUSINESS, it's not personal. Across the line of scrimmage it's just another football player for some other football team. And ya know what? I left the most important pieces of the puzzle out of my click, click, boom blog on purpose. I wanted to write an entire blog for the Big Dawgs up front, i.e the offensive line.
